Coffee isn’t optional when you have 4 kids

When you live in a space that is smaller than some peoples ensuite, and you have 4 kids under 10. Coffee isn’t just an enjoyable drink, it’s an essential element to our sanity and our Childrens survival…. just kidding …. sort of

coffee dates (hot chocolate for little miss) and a muffin on the side, are some of my favourite memories as a mum

basically Brad and I love coffee, it brings us together, its something we look forward too and it gives us the pick me up we need to get through the day after a rough night.

We had our much loved and used “Brew” at home. our. children knew him as their extra sibling and understood that on most days, he was our favourite child.

unfortunately we left him under the stairs, in storage at home.

we really didn’t give much thought to how we would caffeinate on the road, until we were well and truely on the road and caffeine deprived.

Enjoying my morning brew whilst watching the beautiful Leichhardt falls, in outback, North West Queensland

it wasn’t long till we started the research on a new coffee machine, one that would suit our new life on wheels.

we were so glad we came across our Delongi bean to cup machine. it is perfect for the travelling family and here is why:

coffee with an edible cup was a unique experience - available from central markets in Adelaide
  1. it is bean to cup, so no mess or coffee granules that come from tamping. there are so many benefits to NOT having coffee granules everywhere in a van with so many people. I will let you use your imagination

  2. it is affordable and easy to use

  3. you can program it to make the perfect brew for you! there is a YouTube video we found here: ### to help with this.

  4. it is better than a coffee from a cafe (and cheaper too)… I prefer not to buy a coffee out now, because I simply prefer the coffee I can make at home.

  5. it have saved us a huge amount of money. we are really enjoying the Aldi coffee beans as well

  6. the value on our own mental health and wellbeing is hard to measure but lets just say, we are a lot better people, and parents to our children, when we have had a coffee or 2.

when asked what coffee machine I recommend as a BIG family travelling Australia - it’s Delongi all the way!

This is the DeLonghi Coffee Machine we have in our caravan. I got the image straight from the DeLonghi website. You can purchase your own machine there, or from another supplier, we got ours from JB-HFI, on sale.
