I am so grateful for the people, inside the churches that we have visited so far on our travels.

I wanted to share this because churches can be a great resources for travelling families. There are a lot of misconceptions regarding Christian Churches and I wanted to set the records straight so that others can benefit from this amazing resource we have in local towns that we visit across Australia.

I must admit, during my time researching about the dinosaur trail, I found it hard to locate the information I needed and I spent a lot of time online trying to plan our days and piece together the must see activities at each location.

There was so much that I wish I had known when I arrived at each of the attractions that would have been helpful to know beforehand to make our day more enjoyable.

It’s a very good place to start….

When we were first married, we spoke a lot about travelling. I had travelled extensively overseas in my 20’s and had the best. Time. Ever.... So naturally, I wanted to share all these experiences, and more, with my brand spanking new husband.

One of the many benefits of living on the road full time, is the option to free camp.

You might be thinking … AWESOME!!

Free accommodation!

Now, don’t get me wrong, it is awesome,

BUT there are some things you need to consider, especially when you have multiple kids…

I am going to list them here, so you can be as prepared as possible for when you take off on your own adventures….

We had wanted to visit Gladstone on our trip, but time wasn’t on our side and unfortunately instead of staying a week, which is what we would have preferred, we only had one weekend!,

There were 3 things that I loved about Gladstone, and they were completely unexpected, to what I was presuming I would enjoy.!

Hughenden had an awesome free camp available to its visitors. It was a little on the dusty side, but we are in the outback after all.

The Hughenden Discovery Centre was included on our Dino Trail ticket, although I would say you get a lot more for your money because as well as the dinosaur part of the centre, they also have a fantastic modern interactive exhibit on the town itself.

We parked and hooked up to power in Richmond. It was a welcome reprieve and gave us a chance to do our washing, run the air-conditioning at night and to just spread out and enjoy our own space..

Kronosaurus Korner was really good. It had loads of learning for the kids, and some areas where the kids were encouraged to touch the fossils.

I see a lot of posts that ask how you can fund living on the road full time?.

I also see a lot of social media post that ask for the breakdown of cost so they can get a visual on what expenses there might be whilst travelling full time.

This is ALL very important research and I definitely agree, that planning to do such a huge lifestyle change needs to have careful thought, planning and consideration….

However…..

can I challenge you to look at things from another angle?

Rather than looking at the costs that COME WITH living full time on the road, maybe look at the cost that YOU WON’T HAVE anymore, once you hit the road full time.

I can almost guarantee that there is not one family on the road, who casually strutted into this lifestyle with little to no worries about whether it was the right thing to do.

We had 4 kids under 10, a beautiful home we had just spent 5 years renovating, great job, our kids were in a fantastic school, why on earth did we up and move into a caravan???

These dolphins are so special, and he time spent with them is unforgettable!

Time! Is it’s own currency. When you think about it, it is far more valuable than money,, you can always make more money, but time, you can never get back, and you can never make more.

This Winton sign, as you come into the town, is becoming a popular photo spot for tourist. The “I” is optional, and can be put down, if you wanted to use a human “I” instead - thank you Hannah

The Information centre is incredible and one of the draw cards for us was to see the little Dunnarts. Unfortunately they are quite endangered.

Do you know what?? …

Some of my favourite days on this trip are actually NOT the days when we do all the big touristy stuff.

This day at 1770 was probably up there with THE BEST exploring day I have had.
